---------------Global Guide for World Affairs Council
Since I came to United States, I was encouraged to find my passion and give back to the community. After getting involved with several student organizations, I realized I have a passion of learning and promoting different culture and increase cultural awareness. I started to get involved with a local Non-profit organization called World Affairs Council of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as a Global Guide.
The World Affairs Council is the bridge that connects the world to one of America’s most vibrant regions. Through global education, international exchange, and cultural awareness initiatives, the council strengthens Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky’s international identity and engages individuals with foreign affairs. As a global guide, I am mainly responsible for organizing the global classrooms program as a speaker and presenter. We educate globally-minded students today for globally-minded graduates and employees tomorrow. In the past few years' involvement with Global classroom program. I've presented to 500+ students from elementary, middle school and high school. I am very glad to spend time with kids and students regularly to share my own Chinese culture and encourage them to explore the world when they grow up.
Starting from 2018, The Global Classrooms program has expanded to incorporate art education projects, transforming classroom presentations into experiential learning activities. This experience not only gives me the opportunity to further develop intercultural understanding and awareness of being a good global citizen, it also gives the students I presented a chance to get to know the world better. I'd like to keep get involved with World Affairs Council as a global guide and promote cultural awareness.
