I can't think of a better way to start 2019. I went on a 12-day study abroad trip to United Arab Emirates with 25 fellow students and two faculty. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I have been to East and South East Asia, North America and Europe. Middle East, however, is very different from all the places that I have been to.

We visited Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain. As a group of students from Lindner College of Business, we visited several companies such as Dubai Cable Company-Ducab, GE Aviation, TechnipFMC, Astrolabs and Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital. Learning about different companies gave us a chance to get to know more about the business environment of UAE. We also visited United Arab Emirates University, the Emirates academy of Hospitality Management and U.S. Embassy. I was able to understand more about the global business environment and the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Arab. What’s more, we got to learn so much about middle east from different cultural immersion events such as visiting Burj Khalifa, eating lunch at local’s home, desert safari trip and barbecue dinner and etc.

I plan to visit Dubai again in 2020 not only because Dubai has left a very deep impression on me but also because Dubai will show the world an even better Dubai at Dubai 2020 expo.
