I was selected as a teaching assistant for professor Burrel's Business law class for undergraduate students after my class with him in my first semester (fall 2017) here at UC. I have helped him for almost 2 years so far. I have gained many valuable skills during my time as a Teaching Assistant.
For the past two years, I mainly supported professor Burrel in delivering instructions to more than 1,600+ undergraduate students by presenting problems and facilitating discussions. I provided comprehensive assistance to more than 50 students in 6 office hours each week to help them improve grades and performance in their business law class. I also evaluated and graded class assignments and exams for those 1,600 students. I have improved my excel skills and communication skills in the past two years. My leadership skill was greatly developed as well.
This semester was my final semester at University of Cincinnati and also my final semester in assisting Peter in his business law class. Not only did I help Peter with his undergraduate Business law class, I also was selected as a TA for Professor Burrel’s Corporate Law and Social responsibility class for MBA students. I learned something new this semester.
This semester, one of my main responsibility is to improve accessibility of the course material for professor Burrel. I started from the syllabus and was planning to expand to the slides and assignment. The University has a new initiative that focusing on improving accessibility for students in need. Professor Burrel assigned this task for me. Starting from the syllabus, I made the accessibility score a perfect score and improve accessibility for other course materials as well. I also shared what I have learned from our instructional designer Kelly with the other TAs so that we can continuously improve accessibility for course materials in the future.
